POLICE were called at 1646hrs on Monday 03 March after a man returned home from working at an address in Binbrook, to discover what appeared to be an unexploded device in his vehicle.
The object was collected amongst some other things the man had removed from the garden of the property.
As a safety precaution homes within a short distance of the mans property on Milton Road, Grimsby where evacuated whilst the object was recovered.
After a short time the object was removed and people were allowed to return home.
The exact identificaton of the item is yet to be established, however it is thought, at this time, that it may have beeen an old traning device.
The EOD have been contacted and will be attending to assess the device later today.
